1. Turn the airflow mode selection dial
and fan speed control dial to the
“AUTO” position.
2. Set the preferred temperature using
the temperature control dial.
& Type B and C
1. Press the AUTO button. The indicator
light “FULL AUTO” on the multi-func-
tion display (color LCD) illuminates.
2. Set the preferred temperature using
the temperature control dial.
4-3. Automatic climate con-
trol operation
When this mode is selected, the fan speed,
airflow mode, air-inlet control, and air
conditioner operation are automatically
controlled. To activate this mode, perform
the following.

Each function can be individually set to
the “AUTO” mode independently of the
other functions. Any function set to the
“AUTO” mode is controlled automati-
cally. Any function not set to the
“AUTO” mode can be manually ad-
justed as desired.
If you operate any of the buttons on the
control panel other than the ON/OFF
button, the rear window defogger but-
ton, the SYNC button (if equipped) and
the temperature control dial(s) during
FULL AUTO mode operation, the
“FULL” indicator light on the control
panel will turn off and the “AUTO”
indicator light will remain illuminated.
You can then manually control the
system as desired using the button
you operated. To change the system
back to the “FULL AUTO” mode, press
the “AUTO” button.

Operate the automatic climate con-
trol system when the engine is
running.
Even when cooling is not necessary,
the air conditioner will automatically
turn on if the temperature is set
much lower than the current outlet
air temperature. Even in this case,
the “A/C” indicator light on the
control panel illuminates.
To turn off the climate control system, turn
the fan speed control dial to the “OFF”
position. The status of the air inlet selec-
tion will be changed as follows depending
on the setting when the climate control
system is turned off.

The air conditioner may not operate
in the following cases:
– When the cabin temperature is
low.
– When the ambient temperature
decreases close to 328F (08C).
The controllable temperature range
may vary depending on the regional
specifications of the vehicle.

When the air inlet selection is in “AUTO”
mode, the mode will be set to outside
air inlet.
To turn off the climate control system,
press the ON/OFF button. The status of
the air inlet selection will be changed as
follows depending on the setting when the
climate control system is turned off.

When the air inlet selection is in
“MANUAL” mode, the mode from be-
fore the climate control system was
turned off will be maintained.

When the air inlet selection is in “AUTO”
mode, the mode will be set to outside
air inlet.

When the air inlet selection is in
“MANUAL” mode, the mode from be-
fore the climate control system was
turned off will be maintained.
The automatic climate control system
employs several sensors. These sensors
are delicate. If they are not treated properly
and become damaged, the system may
not be able to control the interior tempera-
ture correctly. To avoid damaging the
sensors, observe the following precau-
tions.

Do not subject the sensors to impact.
Keep water away from the sensors.
Do not cover the sensors.
& Automatic climate control
customization (for type B and
C)
The automatic climate control can be
customized on the multi-function display
(color LCD).
Refer to “Setting screen” �P214 for
setting methods.

The climate control can be set in the
following mode.
! Normal mode
Use this mode for normal climate control.
